Family and Medical Leave program legislation signed

Governor Tim Walz signed the paid family and medical leave legislation, which will establish a program that covers various situations such as child bonding, caregiving, personal medical situations, military deployments, and domestic abuse or sexual assault. The law outlines specific relationships covered and limits the leave duration to a maximum of 20 weeks in a calendar year.  The premiums and benefits are set to begin in January 2026.
